Vinita public schools native her entire school career, Hallie Reed, says, “it feels great to be awarded the Vinita Character Counts Award”. Some seniors skate by during their last year of high school, but not for Hallie. She is a highly active athlete and student involved in basketball as a shooting guard, running cross country, and track. Hallie is also a dedicated member of her classes student council, NHS, FCA, History Club, Spanish Club, and lastly the Rotary.

Being so highly involved in activities, motivation can be hard to find for some, but not this student athlete. “My coaches and teammates always keep me motivated as we often talk about our goals and what we have to do to achieve them as a team,” said Hallie.

This basketball season Hallie is looking forward to enjoying her last year as a high school athlete. Hallie is also taking it all in when it comes to her final year of high school and she is looking forward to, “finishing the school year with my friends”.

For Hallie character has several meanings, but the one that stands out the most for her would have to be, “to lead by example and always do the right thing even when no one is around”.

Being a senior and athlete you are often looked up to by younger players and kids as well. “It feels good to know that someone is looking up to you and inspired by your actions especially young athletes. This motivates me to always strive to be a better version of myself,” said Hallie.
