RSU’s Coach Whitney Hocutt Named to Claremore Progess 40 Under Forty – Presented by Rogers State University
- Updated: September 26, 2019
Rogers State Women’s Golf Head Coach Whitney Hocutt was recently inducted into the 2019 class of the Rogers County 40 under 40 by the Claremore Progress at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum.
“We are extremely proud of Whitney on being named to the 40 Under Forty and she is very deserving of the honor,” said Athletic Director Chris Ratcliff. “She has done an amazing job with the Women’s Golf program since her return to RSU and has been great in the community as well. This honor shows off her work, not only to everyone at RSU, but to Claremore and Rogers County.”
Hocutt is in her third season as the head women’s golf coach for her alma mater at Rogers State. Hocutt was a student-athlete and assistant coach previously for the RSU golf program. In her first season in charge of the RSU women’s golf program, Hocutt guided the Hillcats to their first-ever regional ranking and an individual appearance in the NCAA Division II West Super Regional.
Hocutt’s instruction led to the first All-American in program history as Jess Whitting went on to earn Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year honors along with being named to the All-Heartland Conference team. Hocutt has also pushed for the development of the Hillcats in the classroom and has overseen three Hillcats who have earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors.
This year’s Rogers County 40 Under Forty honorees represent outstanding individuals in all facets of the community from education, manufacturing, newspaper, government, tourism, media and small business.
