Wardog fans are ready to get the 2019 football season started. So is outside linebacker Carson Folks. After a summer of workouts, Folks and company are excited to strap it up and hit the field. Folks is one of four talented linebacker the Wardogs will lean on this season for big plays; a fact that doesn’t fall short for Folks.

“What I love most about my team is that we all have fun together and have each other’s backs,” said Folks.

Being a leader and a good teammate is important to Folks and several of the Miami players.

“A good teammate to me means someone that shows up, gives all their effort whether it’s in the weight room or on the field, someone who puts the team first, and doesn’t abandon the team,” said Folks.

This season Folks has set high goals for himself, but it really boils down to competing and winning games for Folks.

“My goals for this season are to compete on the field and win some football games,” said Folks.

As a student-athlete at Miami High School, Folks is involved in several activities including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, STUCO, National Honor Society and Interact Club. He also plays baseball and is in powerlifting.

Folks has a message for the fans coming to the games on Friday night this fall.

“Expect a great group of football players led by an amazing coaching staff bringing home some Wardog wins,” said Folks.

When he’s not on the field or doing homework, you can find Folks hanging out with friends and fishing. When he graduates in 2021 his plans include going to college.
