OFFENSE
Head coach Rob Gilbreath says that the Eagles’ motto for the upcoming season is, “Seize the moment.” Looking to get back into the swing of things and win some games, this team will run a multiple offense featuring a power run game with play-action passing. They will return seven players on this side of the ball. Running back Mattrick Matussak (5-11, 185, Sr.) returns to carry the load for the Eagles on the ground and is expected to be utilized heavily. In receiving positions, look for D. Pendergraft (5-7, 165, Sr.) and Trevor Wood (5-10, 155, Sr.) to be great assets to this offense. At quarterback, Tazen Ferrell (5-7, 165, Jr.) will be calling the shots and slinging the ball. Snapping the ball at center is returning starter Levi Gill (6-2, 280, Sr.). He will continue to make an impact alongside fellow lineman Reese Rumsey (6-0, 250, Jr.).
DEFENSE
The Eagles’ 3-3 base formation will utilize an attack-style defensive with lots of pressure. The defense returns five starters, with some players being relied upon on both sides of the ball, including Levi Gill and Mattrick Mattusak. Gill will shore up the defensive line while Mattusak returns to his spot at linebacker. In the secondary, keep an eye out for Tyler Kruis (5-10, 150, Jr.) to be a threat to opposing teams. Joining Gilbreath on the sidelines is his coaching staff of Brannon Feese, Scott Gatzemeyer, Brad Farrow and Larry Leuellen.
