OFFENSE
The Cougars are enthusiastic about the start of a new season. Quarterback Mason Siegel (5-10, 170, Jr.) is back after a solid sophomore campaign in which he threw for 745 yards and seven touchdowns with another 893 yards rushing and eight touchdowns. Siegel has proven to be productive. Running back Jace Gilmore (5-11, 185, Sr.) is an energetic player and could see more carries this season. In 2018 he rushed for 320 yards and four scores and added 214 yards in receiving. Mason Pittman (5-9, 160) figures to be the go-to receiver after last year. Pittman scored three times and contributed over 200 yards offense. The line looks solid with Preston Rodgers (6-0, 330, Sr.) at tackle, Cody Benson (6-1, 270, Jr.) at guard and Austin Mars (5-10, 270, Sr.) playing the opposite tackle.
DEFENSE
A talented linebacker leads the Cougars’ defense in Levi Greenfield (5-10, 170, Sr.). Greenfield covers a lot of ground and seems to be in on nearly every play. Gilmore and Siegel also will see time on defense with TK Kuehn (5-8, 175, So.) and Clay Gilmore (6-1, 170, So.) at tackle. Look for Pittman to contribute to the defensive effort as well.
