Brady Bendabout – Locust Grove
Locust Grove senior Brady Bendabout has played basketball for about eight years, and is currently a guard/forward for the Pirates. He got started in the sport after seeing all his friends from little league football joining a team. Bendabout continued to play football over the years as well, as a cornerback and wide receiver.
For Bendabout, his teammates are the most important thing about his sport.
“I love playing with my friends and my brother and knowing they have my back and will compete to the best they can,” he said.
Bendabout strives to be a leader for his team. He was named captain, which is a title he takes on with enthusiasm.
“It makes me happy to see my teammates and friends succeed in the sport they love,” he said. “I enjoy being a part of the team’s success and do anything I can do to encourage or help my teammates. I feel honored for being picked as a captain for our basketball team.”
Outside of basketball, Bendabout shared that his grandfather is an important role model in his life who he looks up to. On the court, he has learned a few lessons for himself simply from playing the sport.
“It has taught me that hard work and determination can take you far in life,” he said. “It has also taught me that basketball is more than just a game. The team you are on is a big family and they will cheer you up when you are down but also cheer for you when you are doing great. And I’m thankful for each one of them.”
After graduation in the spring Bendabout will go on to continue his education and hopes to also continue playing basketball at the next level.
